CREDENTIALS
Selected mandates
a portfolio spanning exploration to arbitration
This gallery is a selection, never the ledger. On consummated evidence alone the practice spans more than twenty client mandates and more than thirty engagements, with mandates in execution today.
Delivered
Category-A assessment of an integrated iron-ore program
Authored a ~1,550-page environmental and social impact assessment, aligned with the IFC Performance Standards and Equator Principles (Category A), for a US$10-billion-class integrated iron-ore program in Central Africa (open-pit direct-shipping-hematite deposits, a heavy-haul rail corridor and a deep-water mineral terminal assessed as one system), with resources and reserves framed to JORC / NI 43-101 conventions.
Delivered
Multi-season baseline and Indigenous-Peoples program
Authored the synthesis of a 24-month, three-season environmental and social baseline in a Congo Basin critical-habitat setting (300+ plant and 50+ mammal species including great apes and forest elephant), and designed the Free, Prior and Informed Consent process, resettlement and Indigenous-Peoples plans (IFC PS6/PS7) for forest-dependent communities along a major extractive corridor.
Signed mandate
Definitive Feasibility Study mandate, potash solution mining
Engaged under a multi-million-euro mandate to deliver the Definitive Feasibility Study for a potash (carnallite) solution-mining development in Central Africa: contracted to AACE Class 1 accuracy on capital cost, with operating- and energy-cost estimates held to the same contractual accuracy requirement; well-field and cavern design; long-term creep, triaxial and shear geomechanics with a full rock-mechanics model; complete plant engineering including HAZOP, P&IDs and single-line diagrams; and investment-grade economic evaluation.
Delivered
Scoping-level techno-economic study, potash and magnesium
Prepared the scoping-level techno-economic study (AACE Class 5) for a US$2.2-billion potash-magnesium complex concept on the Central African coast: 2 Mtpa of muriate of potash with salt, magnesia and magnesium-metal co-products, integrated mine-to-port infrastructure (rail, roads, high-voltage transmission, cogeneration and dedicated port facilities), over an exploration target defined from six drill holes and extensive 2D/3D seismic surveys. (The target is conceptual in nature: there has been insufficient exploration to estimate a Mineral Resource, and it is uncertain whether further exploration will result in one.)
Engaged
3D seismic acquisition and processing mandate
Engaged to acquire and process a 12 km² 3D seismic program over a coastal evaporite basin for a potash developer, to Canadian mining-industry data-quality standards, with daily, weekly and monthly reporting and full chain of custody on original field data.
Delivered
Multi-method geophysical reconnaissance, delivered
Designed and executed a ground magnetic and radiometric reconnaissance campaign over a 24 km² grid of a manganese exploration permit in Central Africa, delivered under Competent-Person supervision to the CRIRSCO-family codes (JORC 2012, SAMREC) and the CIM Definition Standards incorporated by NI 43-101, with 100% data-quality acceptance, delineating priority iron-manganese targets across one-fifth of the prospected ground and defining the follow-up geochemistry and infill-geophysics program.
Contracted
Twelve regulatory dossiers under a national Mining Code
Contracted to prepare twelve complete regulatory dossiers (new permit applications, first and second renewals) for an exploration-permit portfolio in Central Africa, each covering the administrative, technical-geoscientific, environmental-social, financial, cartographic and legal volets required by the national Mining Code and OHADA law, with an obligation of result on formal completeness and second renewals supported by scoping-grade studies with Inferred resources.
Delivered
Expert support in international arbitration
Provided expert support to a sovereign state in international (ICC-format) arbitration involving multi-billion-dollar mining-infrastructure claims, spanning damages-quantification review, feasibility-study bankability analysis, and mining and rail technical assessment.
Prepared
Exploration synthesis for a frontier copper position
Prepared within our practice the exploration synthesis and investor-grade data presentation for a copper explorer, integrating regional geochemistry, airborne magnetics and structural interpretation into a documented target-generation narrative.
Design mandate
Mine-to-port corridor APS program design
Designed the preliminary-engineering (APS) program for an integrated mine-to-market logistics chain in Central Africa: mineral-port siting, railway alignment and high-voltage transmission routing developed under one preliminary-engineering scheme, staged from field reconnaissance and multi-disciplinary site characterization through the global development scheme, structural sizing, execution drawings and cost estimates.
Delivered
Maritime market intelligence across six countries
Delivered a body of maritime and commodity market-intelligence work spanning six countries across West and Southern Africa (offshore-opportunity and market-entry studies for three maritime and shipping operators), alongside recurring quarterly commodity supply-and-demand studies (iron ore, gold, potash, copper, nickel and zinc across editions) for a maritime and mining-logistics operator in Central Africa.
In execution
ESIA program for a heavy-haul rail corridor
Commissioned to deliver the environmental and social impact assessment program for a heavy-haul rail corridor in Central Africa: some fifty baseline, trade-off and management-plan work packages to national standards, from terms-of-reference drafting and public enquiry through the final assessment before the technical commission, fielding a thirty-person team including seconded ministry experts.
Active mandate
Active 2026 mining-title renewal mandate
Retained under an active 2026 mandate by a private mineral-exploration company in Central Africa for the preparation of mining-title renewal dossiers: the continuation of a multi-year regulatory-engineering relationship spanning permit applications, first and second renewals.
Delivered
Multidisciplinary field reconnaissance, delivered
Completed a two-week, eight-person multidisciplinary field reconnaissance across rail, port and power sites in Central Africa: geotechnical campaigns over a ~140 km corridor (three segments) conducted with the national buildings-and-public-works laboratory, working sessions with national geologists and geotechnicians, revision of the initial rail alignment, and the drafting of the preliminary design brief (APS).
